What happened when Yoda walked me inside a whirlpool

My expectations for Yoda's session was about fun, because I spoke to another dog in her household before her session and it was a blast. Yoda immediately allowed our connection and she asked me to follow her. "Oh. No." I thought because that means her humans' questions will have to take a backseat and that I've seen this behavior a handful of times before-- when the soul has lived trauma. And I never use that word lightly.

Yoda and I walked inside a whirlpool of her energy, deeper into her heart. Yoda said "here we stop and I will show you." I saw a younger version of herself, happily playing with another puppy who looked like her. They were inside a house. In the background of this memory was human chatter and sounds of a busy kitchen. The human mother was cooking rice on the stove when two teenaged boys entered. They took their mother's hand and nagmano sila. Then, they greeted Yoda and her sister and brought them outside the house to play. It was a good life, Yoda's heart said. "We ran and chased after each other. Fun!"

Until one day, the family brought everyone inside their car and drove to some place unfamiliar to Yoda. The older humans left both puppies on the side of the road and did not give the boys time to say goodbye nor cry. Yoda and her sister walked, directionless, for days. Her sister didn't make it and Yoda cursed the hot ground under her feet. "Hunger is easier than this. Where are my boys?" she said.

I understood these memories and gently walked Yoda out of her whirlpool. The first thing I asked Yoda's current humans over Zoom was whether Yoda was a rescue, and if she was rescued near a highway but not too far from some plants. The humans confirmed that she is a rescue and they found her near a busy road and gas station, hiding under a bush.

Yoda is in a happier place now. What she showed me still lives in her heart, but it is something that can still be worked on, gently and consistently.

Thank you, Yoda.
